Person of trust training is even more impactful thanks to blended learning

The basic person of trust training course takes on a new look. What was previously a five-day classroom-only course has been transformed into a blended learning track. Participants now combine four days of classroom training with online self-study through our learning platform. Prevention adviser Heidi Henkens will tell you all about why this updated format is so interesting.

Our ‘Person of trust (basic level) - blended learning’ course has been nominated for Flowsparks' A taste of Learning Awards. Cast your vote until March 7th through this link.

What makes blended learning so valuable?

Heidi Henkens, psychosocial prevention adviser at Mensura, once again lists the advantages of blended learning:

  • Learning at your own pace: “The programme includes people from different backgrounds in studies and jobs. The online part gives participants a chance to digest a piece of theory at their own pace.”
  • Flexible learning: “Course participants can follow the online elements at their own pace at a time that suits them best, making it easier to combine with work and private life.”
  • Interactive online: “The online learning platform offers text, quizzes, podcasts, and other interactive assignments. This comprehensive offer ensures that participants can fully immerse themselves in the subject matter before they start the classroom sessions.”
  • Peer learning: “People learn from each other and from the trainer, which adds a connective aspect.”
  • Realistic cases: we simulate concrete situations in both the online and live training components.
  • The learning material remains available in the online learning platform for one year after taking it.
  • Directly applicable: Besides tools and protocols, we also work on a practical assignment. This way, we are sure that it does not stop at theory but participants can also apply their knowledge directly.

Connection and a higher level

“Persons of trust play an important role within organisations. A solid, impactful training course gives those people the right foundation,” says Heidi. “The combination between the self-study at home and the classroom lessons results in a valuable experience.”

In addition, Heidi stresses the importance of connection. “The training can release a lot in participants, and often strong connections develop in the group. Consequently, we see groups attending refresher courses together every year. That’s very nice to see.”
