David Girol Garcia

A level 1 Prevention and Safety Adviser and holder of a master’s in environmental management, I joined the Mensura Risk Management department in January 2022.

For more than 20 years I worked in industry as an engineer in telecommunications, defence and electronics. Specifically within these roles, I managed the aspects of “Health, Safety and the Environment” for a large company in the aerospace sector and I was responsible for the in-house safety department as an adviser on Prevention and Safety in the Workplace.

Naturally concerned for the wellbeing of both humans and nature, I think it’s important to contribute to their protection through my actions and the advice I provide.

I firmly believe that we make progress by stepping outside our comfort zone. We need to dare and to take action if we are to grow and develop our talents.

I enjoy jogging and especially like hiking through natural surroundings and travelling.

I work in the areas of safety at work, risk analysis, analysing accidents at work and commissioning machinery.

I have implemented an HSE management system, as well as a dynamic risk management system. I work on management systems based on ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 standards.

I am a level 1 Prevention and Safety Adviser at Mensura.
I worked previously as a software development engineer for Alcatel and as the manager of a technical centre for telecoms operators.

I have been responsible for projects and was also HSE manager and head of SIPP for Thales Alenia Space until 2021. As part of these roles, I implemented activities regulated by the code of wellbeing at work, particularly as prevention and safety adviser.

I hold a master’s in environmental management and obtained the title of accredited Building Energy Performance Certifier for the Walloon Region in 2010.

I also gained my university degree (industrial engineering) in 2000 and my level 1 Prevention and Safety certificate in 2013.

I present awareness and coaching sessions for members of the line management and workers. I provide workers with training and awareness on HSE. I also organise training courses for basic level (level 3) prevention advisers.
