If you work with babies or children, you know that an accident can happen in the blink of an eye. During this course, you will learn about the common risks and how to administer First Aid.

Why?

It is easy to have an accident while playing. Do you know how to take care of a wound? Or even more serious: what to do in case of suffocation or a bad fall? If you take the right actions, you could save a child’s life. Learn all about First Aid for babies and children, so that you can immediately apply First Aid should something happen.

Mensura is recognised by ‘Kind en Gezin’ to provide this training.

What do you learn?

There will be some theory but the focus will be on practical situations and knowing how to intervene. The training is adapted to the child’s age group. There is a maximum of 15 participants in order to learn as much as possible.

Theory:

  • Typical dangers for children
  • Basic principles of First Aid
  • Step-by-step resuscitation plan according to ERC guidelines

Practical:

  • Resuscitating babies and children using adapted mannequins
  • Techniques for choking and suffocation
  • Recovery position

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an initiation, a refresher course, and a basic course?

An initiation is an awareness training for all staff in your company. This ensures everyone reacts appropriately in the event of an accident. You do not receive an official certificate.

After a basic course, you receive a certificate and are then a first aider in your company. You retain that certificate on completion of the mandatory annual refresher course.

How many first aiders are needed in my organisation?

This is determined by the risk analysis. You can find a recommendation per sector here.
