Who am I?
As a bio-engineer and prevention adviser level 1, I have built up my experience in a range of different organisations. I combine my knowledge of work safety with leadership and management.
I believe that you have to view the policy applied on safety as an integral part of a sound business policy. Hence my interest in the policy-related aspects of prevention, integrating aspects of wellbeing into care systems, aspects of behaviour and communication, skills development, wellbeing culture in organisations and coaching of prevention advisers.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling. When I’m not on the road, I like working around the house.

Expertise
I am familiar with all aspects of work safety: organising and structuring, developing a prevention policy and safety culture, transforming unsafe behaviour into safe behaviour, conducting risk analyses and accident investigations, and so on. I also have many years of experience with the replacement, support and coaching of prevention advisers, developing a safety culture and implementing training programmes about safety.
I have developed a wide range of training courses for a very broad group of people. This is something that I do at Mensura for our external courses. I am also still a presenter of various courses, as well as an external prevention adviser on work safety.

I have completed a wide range of additional courses, including on Prince2 project management (Foundation), OHSAS18001, VCA, ISO9001, 5S, risk management, train-the-trainer, work-safe behaviour coach, toolbox meetings and personal protection equipment.
I have written publications about the function of the prevention adviser, personal protection equipment and e-learning. I am also guest teacher at Odisee (Ghent), UCLL (Diepenbeek) and UAntwerpen on subjects such as prevention policy, collective and personal protection equipment, workstation analysis, working with third parties, VCA and organising first aid. Finally, I am a promoter and member of the judging panel for prevention adviser levels 1 and 2 courses.
