Focus of 2025 Labour Inspections announced
Last month, FPS ELSD announced that it will increase the number of labour inspections on well-being by 2025. They’ve now announced which sectors and topics they will focus on specifically.

The Labour Inspectorate for Occupational Welfare Monitoring is part of the FPS ELSD and is responsible for inspections. Inspectors analyse and evaluate organisations’ well-being policies and indicate if there are shortcomings or breaches of legislation.
In 2025, the labour inspections will focus primarily on these campaigns:
Sector-related topics
- Chemical agents and seasonal work in agriculture
- Surprise action in the construction industry, incl. safety coordination and thematic enforcement
- Fisheries
Health-related risks
- Crystalline quartz dust
- Training on diisocyanates
- Asbestos
- Biosafety
- Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders
- Psychosocial prevention
Regulations and monitoring
- Monitoring new Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPPW)
- Fedris – increased risk (defaulters and appeals aggravated risk)
- Passenger lifts (modernisation and repeated negative decisions)
Note that this list is not exclusive. Regardless of your sector, your company could be facing a labour inspection in 2025.
